Cabarete Beach is a very windy and beautiful beach, kite surfers love Cabarete, there are many restaurants with good food right in front of the beach. I recommend a visit to Cabarete and stay at Pelican Beach Condos just few steps from the beach.

A great spot to sit back relax and enjoy the kite surfing. There are lovely beachfront restaurants that you can enjoy and it is lively without being overcrowded.

This is one the best beaches at the north shore and the whole Puerto Plata region. It is the Atlantic Ocean, not the Caribbean Sea, so depending of the time of the year you cold find strings of cold water. Also this beach is very...More

I have been to different beaches in the caribbean and this one is by far the most memorable. This is not your typical resort beach, where you have some people in the water some lounging. This beach has this kite surfing thing that you just...More

A wide, deep, clean expanse of beautiful sand and water. Great restaurants and hotels line the beach but they're 100 yds away, thanks to the deep nature of this great beach. It's busy but the vast expanse of the beach means that it always looks...More

If you're adventurous, do the waterfalls, but it's kind of a high thrill (as you will be required to jump off some cliffs) and there's a lot of walking involved. If not, both Sosua and Cabarete are great beaches, the main... More

If your idea of three months vacation is beach and wind surfing, it might be suitable. But Dom Rep had so much to offer, I'd recommend rotating vacation towns -- a few weeks in each of the diverse communities of: 1) Caberete... More

I recently visited Cabarete and being from Australia the water seem pretty flat to me. The Kite surfers loved it though.
