Ban Klong Muang is a great place to stay. It was very quiet and relaxing when we were there. Most hotels are just off the main road, which runs through Klong Muang, very close to the beach. There are great little restaurants everywhere and a 7-11 just down the road for all your essentials. Ao Nang is about 15 minutes away. A taxi is about 450-500 baht and 350-450 for a tuk tuk. Most tours will pick you up and drop you back from your accommodation. There are long boats near the Nakamanda that will take you out to the islands. It's brilliant.

If you are looking for a beach that is calm, quiet with a few nice bars and resorts, this is for you. About 15 minutes from Ao Naoung Beach -full animation bars shops etc … by motorbike.

After two days in, waiting to check in, I checked out the beach. Looking for signs of life other than humans, the squid-remains, accidentally interrupted a trail of minute hermit-lobsters (see image 2). The water is so clear and clean here but a few minutes in and am bitten by tiny sea-creatures. The beach is littered with all kinds of shells but more distressing, the amount of dead corals on the beach can't be counted (picture 1 shows image of gathered corals while sitting still in less than 5 minutes)
Laying on the beach, immediately bitten by either a red-coloured ant or spider, picked it up and threw away immediately. Same colour of spider later turned up on my other arm, didn't recognize the head as before though.

The people seem woefully unhappy with the exception of my tuktuk-driver. The tourist-things seem too touristy, anything else appears to be a mess. Normally, when the city's left behind, it clears up. Not here. Just as I thought nobody cleaned up here, two men shovel dead leaves together. Contrary to some other reviews I read, this beach is relatively clean of plastics, a few littered here and there, brought in by sea and it's quite peaceful.
Tourism here appears to be new-colonialism and nothing else.

For purpose of holiday, I'll not be returning.

Some say, this is the most beautiful beach in the Krabi region ... it is large and mostly clean, perfect for extended beach walks ...

It was a couple of years since our last visit here and things have changed. It is much, much quieter now and that has both pluses and minuses. At times, you will almost have the beach to yourself but it also means there is less activity and action around it.

The sand is white, soft and beautiful. The sea is not the very cleanest we saw around here but it’s still great and very calm.

There are no facilities for renting Sun beds or umbrellas so you need to find shade under the palm trees. Hardly the worst position in the world to be in!

I walked along here every morning for the two weeks we were here. So much to see with all the boats 🚤, rock pools when the tide is out. Overhanging trees giving shade for sun bathers it has everything for a day or longer if you are staying here.

Although not as well known or visited as the beaches at Ao Nang or Nopparathara, Khlong Muang beach is certainly worth taking the time to visit. It's much quieter and ideal for all types of visitors with plenty of opportunities to stretch the legs and breathe in the sea air.
The views from the beach of several of the off shore islands are very picturesque even on a relatively dull day.
There are opportunities to eat and/or drink and what better way to spend time relaxing than by sitting in a beachfront cafe.
Well worth visiting.
