Amazing architecture, interesting story and exquisite woodwork. The church is a must for anyone passing through Castro.

It was the unusual paint choice of purple and yellow on the outside which attracted us in. The interior is all wooden and there is a small exhibition showing some of the amazing history of the building.

So many historical churches to take in while you are in Chiloe, and this one is a Can't Miss. Stunning to think of the effort to build/maintain over the centuries.

Simple in design and made almost entirely of wood. The carving and carpentry work are a delight. The high windows flood the congregation space with light.

One of the iconic wooden churches of Chiloe. Well worth a visit. A carpenter's dream, right in the centre of town.

Amazing architectural and artistic work. The structure, columns and most of the details are made of carved wood. That is interesting, unique, but it was not what got my attention. What I found most interesting and have not seen a single mention anywhere, was that...More
