The restored traditional house gives an interesting insight into life in the region. Limited information, but having a local guide helped us to get more from the experience. Learnt about life in the house and saw the many rooms for men, women or children. Amazing...More

It is a bit of walk up form the main part of town, and it seemed we had got away from all the people. In fact, although the house was open there was noone there at all to collect money. We paid as we exited...More

In reality, again it is the view that makes this place. The plaque on the wall tells you everything you need to know, and the rooms all look similar, except for the formal one for the weddings. It is quite a hike further up from...More

Zekate House is located heading up the hill towards the Kerculla resort a short walk from the centre of the upper town and is well worth the visit. Before entering the house we had a coffee on the veranda and enjoyed the panoramic views over...More

The visit was very interesting, the price includes a tour guide in english which explains us what the rooms were for. It's worth getting there to better understand Albanian Life!

Definitely worth the trek up the hill. It's on private property so you just pay the old man who lives next-door. It has an abandoned feel, and some of the wooden floors seem questionable, but it's a very impressive house with a beautiful wedding room...More

We were made very welcome to this wonderful piece of architecture. Each room in this fours story building told a different story and introduces the visitors to life in ottoman times. A grand house perched on the side of the hill, easily accessible from the...More

It's one of those places that felt like nothing else. I've been to skanzens and ethnographical museum before, but the architectural style, decor and traditional way of living of Gjirokastrians is truly unique. Definitely worth the visit (and asking around to find the place)
