The absolute Jordan highlight was an unguided walk down Wadi Ghuweir. Google wadi ghuweir → images. Its utterly, utterly stunning. Took us (oldest 68) 6hr 20min and the last 2km or so is probably well below sea level, exposed and hot but the rest is a delight with plants, frogs, birds, lizards and damselflies in a siq of painted rocks.... We hiked Wadi Ghuweir just last week. We originally had planned on canyoning in Wadi Mujib, but were there out of season. This proved to be an excellent alternative! We had a driver and Wadi Rum tour booked through Classic Wadi Rum Tours, so once we told them we wanted to do the hike they set everything up (I'm sure... More

We had a wonderful hike with our kids in the beginning part of Wadi Ghuweir. Since we could walk in the water, our kids loved it and kept going much further than normal.

The Wadi is like walking through a beautiful labyrinth. The wall are crazy high, but show wonderful rock formations and provide nice protection from the sun in summer. There is a little bit of water in this wadi at the beginning, but not so much that you need to prepare to get drenched. We did not complete the hike to... More

Amazing place! Quiet, peaceful and very beautiful. You can do it on your own or with a guide. Sometimes a bit difficult, but the rope can help at those times. Only way to get there is by car.

We went for a weekend trip to the Dana Reserve, for doing a hike at the Wadi Al Ghweir trail. After our night at the Rummana Campground at Dana, we went for the trail. Our guide Salem was very helpful and spoke decent English. He gave some information from time to time about the environment, the reserve, some species and... More

This Wadi/Canyon has a bit of everything for the more adventurous from hanging gardens and amazing rock formations to water filled sections where a few swimming strokes are required. Experienced hikers should not find it too difficult and you can not get lost as you just basically follow the wadi bottom. For the less experienced the reassurance of having a... More

Beautiful hike, lots of shade along the way even in hot weather. Do it if you are staying at Feynan EcoLodge

I'd never heard of this wadi until I visited Feynan; it's not one of the usual haunts of Jordan's adventure companies, but although I only hiked a part of the trail, it was clear that this is definitely worth taking a whole day to explore.

The place is mesmerizing, nature is beautiful. if you are staying at Wadi Feynan and want to spend a 6-8 hour hike that will make you feel like you're high on beauty, take the lower track, but you will be faced with a waterfall, so you'll have to walk your way back. although this is a mind blowing experience, yet...
