Another reason to try to schedule two days in Petra. You just can't walk around and see everything in 4-5 hours. This was a large city. Climb the steps. Another good view too.

If you visit the Petra site, you will see it. Be ready to a long walk, and avoid mid day, due to heat. Good walking shoes are a MUST.

This huge complex is worth visiting. It's in the middle of Petra and close to the path to the Monastery.

We really enjoyed walking around the grounds of the temple. Beautifully kept and so much history. We enjoyed it a lot.

you can see a long way from here over the dig site and great photo opportunity. take some water and give to the dogs. also buy some of the jewelery etc as those poor people sit in the sunall day long, did not even bother...More
