I visited Petra by Night and trust me it is one of the best experience one can have when in Jordan. My wife was absolutely delighted on having this experience. This tour requires 30 to 45 minutes walking on normal and semi smooth terrain and may get slightly challenging in dim candle light. I would personally recommend this tour which... More

The candle-lit walk through the Siq and then the (relatively short and modest) program at the Treasury are not to be missed during a visit to Petra. While the other, sometimes loud, tourists can be a distraction, it is still worth it. When the emcee tells everyone sitting in front of the dark Treasury to be silent, sitting in that... More

We did the Petra By Night before we went into Petra the next day. It was haunting. The walkway into Petra was lit with luminaries, and there was little lighting during the program. We listened to a storyteller and then music played on a local instrument. This is more an experience than site-seeing. Since it is dark, there really isn't... More

It is hard to review this because our guide somewhat brushed it off . However, it rang a familiar note since sacrifice was the theme of the story of Abraham and Isaac .. the beginning of the Torah and what I learned was the change of the worship of many Gods to one and the change from Human sacrifice to... It's good for the photo when they turn on the uplighting which happens at the end of the 30mins "show". Other than that. It's a bust. The place looks beautiful at night but even better during the day.

Unmissable 0 day first night event when you visit the hidden metropolis. It's a totally different experience from the daytime hike and does not substitute it. Should not be so lazy to miss. It can get pretty much romantic. You'll find the path even if you arrive late. A torch can come handy when the night is dark.

I read the reviews and worried that it might lessen the experience of seeing Petra the next day. But, it is a totally unique experience. I am glad that we didn't miss it! The walk in the dark through the siq, the lit candles in the sacks, the flute music and the explanation, all worth it.

We were told this was a must do, but we were disappointed. The guide tells everyone to walk in silence but no one does. We had a full moon, so it wasn't that dark plus the trail is lined with candles in brown bags which is a nice mood enhancer. Once you get to the treasury, there are tons of... More

Picture it, you're taking a "NIGHT TOUR" of Petra, walking along a pathway lit by lanterns and enjoying a BRILLIANT star-filled sky with a bright, beautiful moon. If you like stars, you can see numerous constellations. That is, when you're not being blinded by Chinese tourists waving cellphones, flashlights and hi-beamed torches all over the place. On the ground, on... More

I have seen the night show of Chichin Itza and was encouraged to experience PETRA BY NIGHT. Although I have read the tripadvisor review is not so good, I want to try it as well. We walk on the dark of the cold winter night, alone the road many candle paper lantern and you can see stared sky while cross... More
