We weren't sure we were going to have time to visit Little Petra, but we're glad we found the time! The site is a lot smaller and more manageable. The buildings are pretty well preserved and if you go to the end, there's a (slightly scary and steep) path that goes to an overlook. I got about halfway up, watched... More

Smaller than Petra but free. There are less tourist and it's beautiful. Do not hesitate to climb the staircases at the very end. You'll discover a wonderful view and you can have a tee.

A fantastic place to visit. Worth getting a guide to learn about Little Petra. I hope to go back and do the walk from Little Petra to the Monastery at Petra with my husband.

A very interesting place. It gives you a preview on what to expect at Petra itself. The local Bedouin are very friendly although trying to make you buy something all the time. Unfortunately, when we were there, it was very cold so perhaps we didn't appreciate it as much as we could have.

This is about a 9 kms drive from Petra and not to be missed. This is white sandstone and everything is scaled down . We were the only ones there and the experience was wonderful and beautiful and I was intrigued and excited about all the walks that were available leading you up and over the wonderful rock formations for... We expected to see 'more of the same', but little Petra was quite different. It looks more like the place where large groups of camel drivers would stopover, rehydrate, party and sleep. It has large caved with benches carved out of the rocks, huge water cisterns and a cave with fresco paintings of flowers and cherubs in is. At the... More

This is a pretty cool introduction to the amazing features in the area. It is a quick 1 hour tour at most. You will have several Bedouins insisting you need a guide - this is not true and would be a waste of your money, especially at 10 JOD.

Our group visited little Petra the day before the main site. There are a few buildings and good views from the end worth having.
