Go early, enjoy the walk, let the rocks with their colors and shapes fascinate you. Read or let a guide tell you abou the amazing water engineering the Nabateans developed.

You can literally spend days wandering around the archeological park (if you could afford the admission each day). Your first real taste is when you enter Siq which is one of Petra's entrance. Absolutely amazing rock formations that leads to the main prize. Watch out...More

The siq is an amazing place that leads to a breathtaking view of The Treasury. Do not miss taking a close look at the water channels carved into the rock, or the camel caravan that used to be at the end.... I would come back...More

The entrance to Petra. What more can you say. Very interesting rock formations with light reflections. A photography buff's heaven!! Watch out for the carts who run too fast down this narrow path and the obvious left overs of horse power. Wear good walking shoes.

The trail leading up to the Treasury is absolutely stunning with beautiful rock formations and carvings. We arrived early so there were few tourists. Watch out for coaches and animals making their ways up and down.

Generally excited groups of coach tourists set off into the Siq to re-emerge about 3 hours or so later as tired but pleased tourists! The Siq itself has lots of interesting things to see as you slowly walk on towards to Treasury. Watch out for...More

I love rocks. The rock mountains split apart, leaving a slim passage, worn away by time, wind, and water. Imagine 1000 camels on a caravan, passing into the city of Petra.. This journey through the siq is 800 meters down into the valley and is...More

As Siq is a naturally created chasm created by an earthquake. It is about one mile long. Your trip through the Siq would seem to be endless because of so many curves on the way. Colours are changing dramatically as the Sun evokes the mystery...More

You won't need to be an experienced horse rider because the locals will either walk the horse or ride alongside you. Be careful to very clearly negotiate a price for the ride AND for the tip before you start because some... More
