Midway down the main path. Along the side of the front courtyard are a line of columns. The door to the main chamber is rather eroded on the bottom, but the lines are still quite visible. Far above the door are three burial chambers.

Royal tombs are basically a combination of 4 tombs adjacent to each other, urn tomb, silk tomb, palace tomb and Corinthian tomb. The different coloured walls and the patterns are a must see. Definitely worth a close look. Hard to miss if you follow the...More

These will be missed by many visitors but the series of Tombs have some amazing natural colouring and give you a sense of what it must have been like in ancient times. Far less steps than getting to the Monastery. Certainly worth spending some time...More

You cannot miss the royal tombs and nice that one was able to go inside nothing really to see inside but around this area the different colours of the rocks are quite a spectacle. so much to see around this area.

....... reason for walking up to The Royal Tombs, apart from looking at The Royal Tombs themselves, is to be able to look down on the site and stare in amazement at the view. Wow. Just wow.

The Royal Tombs are an incredible structure to see from the ground while walking through Petra -- but make the climb up to visit them up close (it's not very high up, nor is it a difficult climb). Not only are they spectacular to see...More

Often time, visitors reach the "Treasury" and then turn around and leave. Please ... explore further, so you don't miss these tombs. Not only are the tombs of royalty, but also wealthy individuals, who could commission these magnificent structures, cut into the sandstone. If you...More

Toombs where the Nabataean Kings were buried, looks amazing even if you don't go up close, it is a bit of a steep walk but worth it. It can be very hot, you might like to take a donkey ride. You'll need to negotiate a...More

The Royal Tombs are burial sites for the kings. I really enjoyed the views from a distance but as I got closer the sandstone looked even more beautiful with all of the colorful striations. It is an uphill climb to get the tombs but worth...More
