Virupaksha Temple is located in Hampi 350 km from Bangalore, in the state of Karnataka in southern India. It is part of the Group of Monuments at Hampi, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple is dedicated to Virupaksha, a form of Shiva

As a history buff and a student aspiring in architecture, I loved this heritage site. the carvings on the pillars are detailed and beautiful. The temple is wonderfuly mantained. would recommend to go on a pleasant day.

It is a little crowded as it is one of the main attractions and also has lots of devotees coming. But awesome to visit. Please note that temple closes for an hour or two in afternoon starting from 12pm I guess.

The temple is located on the street of Hampi Bazaar. The lighting's in the temple was very good to view. Awesome to relax and worship.
