The visit to this temple was awesome. I felt that the authorities could have done a better job by cleaning the surroundings and the temple but it was ok. The bus service to go there was fine but the auto cost is a bit to high. i think it is a great place to visit so enjoy!

This temple has been an important pilgrimage center for worshipers of Lord Shiva. It is visited by a lot of tourists and pilgrims.

It was amazing to learn that what you can see of the Virupaksha temple from afar is only the archway of the entrance gate. It just makes you wonder what this civilzation was like at its zenith. The inner areas are very very interesting, do go with a good guide. Lakshmi the elephant gave us her blessings inside as well.... More

The entire area gives a feel of the richness of culture in Indian history. The temple is very artistic. In fact the entire group of monuments here is simply a treat to eyes. It could be a nice place for educational trips or a family trip with growing children (teens) who are interested to know Indian history, culture and art.
