A large coral rock covers the entrance to the water from the beach-on the day we went, the waves were very rough, so we did not swim. There is a little bar within walking distance to the beach, but we brought our own beers and water. Heads up to families who are not okay with their kids seeing nudity-most of... More

Great swim, clear waters, laid back atmosphere, hipster bar nearby, not crowded, sun-beds and umbrellas available for reasonable free

Ammoudi Beach is simply heaven with its white sand and crystal clear blue waters. It does get very busy in peak season but is well worth a visit.

My wife and I have been coming to this beach for a number of years now as its one of the best nudist beaches around. Yes you do get the odd textile now and again but everyone seems to 'co-exist' quite happily and the doughnut man makes his daily appearance right around lunchtime. Be sure to get there early for... Although the street comes to end at the beach Amoudi, it's not really a dead end, on the contrary, to take to the water, swimming, and take the sun; the rocks are perfect sculpted by the sea, all this, and the breeze is an refinement for man's soul.

Walked to this beach from Plakias. Very quiet and sheltered. It was good snorkelling although sea rough the day we were there. Used by a dive company so knew it was an ok location.

My favourite beach in the Plakias area. Nice clear water, not a great deal of fish to see though. Oh and the trailer at the top serve great food meaning you don't have to go far for lunch or a beer.

We have explored many beaches in Greece and frankly, the snorkeling has been a bit disappointing but BOY were we delighted with Ammoudi. OK, yeah, it is not Hawaii and it's tropical fish but the water was crystal clear and there were fish everywhere. The cliffs on both sides are coated with sponge so you can snorkel right on the... Nice but quite small. Drive over chania beach west end park there. It is quite steep so it is better to stay close to the sea. Good clean water.
