Logarska dolina (Logar Valley) is an idyllic fusion of flatlands and majestic Alpine mountains. Whether you're a fan of hiking, biking, or simply taking leisurely walks, this place is an absolute must-visit. The entrance fee is applicable only for cars and motorbikes, while hikers and bikers can explore freely without charge. The valley offers parking spots, cozy spots to relax on the lush grass, and breathtaking views in every direction. Nature's symphony plays harmoniously here, and at the valley's end, numerous paths lead to splendid destinations like Rinka waterfall, Orlovo gnezdo, and several hiking trails leading to mesmerizing peaks such as Okreselj, Kocna, and Ojstrica. Additionally, you can venture into Robanov kot and Matkov kot, and no matter where you look, the view through this valley is amazing.

Such a beautiful place to visit. We stayed in Logarska Ojstrica and it had the most amazing views, very accessible for the park. Would recommend the hotel.
There are plenty of walks of all types through this valley, and the views just keep coming!

Logar Valley is definitely worth a visit - a wast nature park with lots of options for the active family.
We âonlyâ spent 4 hours, but there are acitivities for much more time.
* A small hike to the 90 metres Rinka Waterfall (30 minutes)
* Trekking a bit of the themed trail through the valley (2 hours)
* Having lunch in one of the oldfashioned restaurants (1 hour)
* Just browsing and killing time enjoying the mountain views (30 minutes)
The themed trail is a 7 km well marked path - one way. When you drive through the valley you will see lots of signs to the trail. Park your car and walk some of the trail - or the whole. It ends up at Rinka Waterfall. Walking shoes recommended.
Entrance fee to Logar Valley: Euro 7 per car.

We are a family of four (children of 3 and 11 y.) so we chose short trips for daily goals. We all enjoyed the scenery that was accessible to all of us and the food at tourist farms. Sometimes in awe, we forgot to use the cameras!

Beautiful landscape and fascinating meeting with nature!
We read about 15 minutes walk from the parking place near the waterfalls. The "keepers" stopped us without warning that we will have to walk more than 45 minutes. For people with all kind of walking problem it was really a torture. And up the hill there was enough place to park. The management should observe and ask visitors about things to improve. They will have some subjects to dill with. Do it!
Than it will get a 5 out of 5.

Echoes of Yosemite without the traffic. Beautiful valley views of mountains and waterfalls.
The valley name is derived from the Logar Farm, which is in the glacial valley, and in 1987, the valley received protected status as a landscape park encompassing 9.56 square miles. We were greeted at the entrance by a very pleasant gatekeeper who welcomed us. After paying a nominal entrance fee 7 EUR (per car regardless of the number of passengers â entrance is free for walkers and hikers), we spent two hours in the 7 km valley as the sun provided spectacular lighting for photos.
The tree-lined road that takes you into the valley is the same that brings you out. 8 dramatic alpine peaks (5,784-8,048â) ring the valley and provide the perfect backdrop for several working farms that you pass along the way. We saw very little traffic when we were there in early June, enabling us to travel at our own slow pace and pull off the side of the road for pictures whenever we chose
The valley road ends at the trailhead to Rinka Falls. Although the sign indicates the walk to the falls will take 10 minutes, we found it to be closer to 20 along a fairly easy but rocky trail. Rinka Falls is one of the most beautiful and best-known waterfalls in Slovenia, and is the source of the Savinja River. It has a drop of 344â and is popular with ice-climbers in the winter. Great views of the surroundings can be had from a plank bridge that crosses the river near the base of the falls and the views from the falls are jaw-dropping. A cantilevered shelter built in 2016 is also present for those willing to climb a few steps.
Donât miss this drive if you are in the area!

Hi, how do I get there from Ljublijana using public transport in late October.

Hi. Take a coach or a train from Ljubljana to Celje and from there there is a bus to Logarska Dolina at 9:10.
Coming back is a bit more complicated. There's a village, called Solcava, about 4 km from Logarska Dolina. From there the last bus leaves for Celje at 15:54.
I hope I could help.
