We went to UC Berkeley to go to the home opener game for Cal Footballl. Cal won. We had a nice walk through campus as well. We parked in a university parking garage on North Side (Lower Hearst 1).

take BART. it takes 9.75 to downtown Berkeley. then get free shuttle of university.
