Fourth Street is a great location for shopping and eating. Plenty of parking. So may nice stores and restaurants to eat at. You can spend the whole day here easily. People watching and right by the bay.

It's just a bunch of stores and restaurants. If something you want is here, come and shop. Otherwise don't go out of your way.

We loved all the small boutique shops here. All very high end but lots of clothes, furniture, lighting and accessory choices. Also a few nice neighbourhood cafes for either a sit down lunch or takeaway options. Not a place to spend a whole day shopping but certainly a couple of hours.

A lovely place to spend the afternoon, strolling along the walkways, shopping and grabbing a nosh. It's especially nice during the holidays when all the decorations are up.

Good place for food and coffee. Bette's a fun place with good breakfast. Peet's Coffee a standard. Lots of shops to browse in plus favorites like MAC, Crate and Barrel Outlet, Apple Store. Parking not easy but can find spots on perimeter streets or in lot.

You can do lattes, lunch and shopping, all in a 3 block area around 4th street. Crate&barrel, peers coffee, and indie shops are nearby. Some spots are a little pricey, but its pleasant and relaxing for an afternoon.

Lots of trendy stores, where you can find everything that you don't need. You may just find that one special useless accessory that 'completes you' as a consumer...er... I mean as a 'person' ;-)

Enjoy a historic street that has been updated (gentrified) some years ago, and retains a cozy feel. No big chains, except for the Apple store, and Peet's coffee. And the Crate & Barrel Outlet. Good restaurants and take-out, and a wide variety of local shops. Easy destination from I-80 freeway.

Fourth street is my go to destination for shopping local. From small boutiques to high end department stores like Anthropologie, you can't go wrong. There are several cafes and restaurants as well as a bookstore, an Apple Store and Crate and Barrel Outlet store. They also have live music on the weekends.
