The Berkeley Marina has much to offer on a nice day, including the kite festival (superb) in late July, fireworks on July 4, etc. Otherwise, it's a beautiful park and gorgeous views of the San Francisco Bay. There's a Children's Adventure Park where they can build things, and other minor attractions. Think of it when you're up for a long... More

It's a relief to get away from the city and walk around the Berkeley marina. The parking is actually free here, unlike just about everywhere else, and it is not too crowded. There is a nice walking path in the Caesar Chavez park, and the squirrels are friendly and funny. It would be a good place to take children on... More

The Berkeley Pier is a great spot to spend an afternoon with beautiful views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz. Fly a kite in the park, view the Marina boats, or have a meal or appetizer at Skates on the Bay. Sunsets are glorious.

The marina and pier offer a nice walk, but the walking path around a view hill just north of the marina is not to be missed. Windy fun, with wildlife.

A lovely Marina with many individually owned yachts and small craft, a lovely place to amble round and enjoy the planting and views.

We were staying in the area and were able to go for a run along the area. Great little kids park in the area and the park was relatively clean.

All will enjoy a stroll by the bay with waves crashing and wind blowing your hair. I love people watching and children excited to see the water. Folks fishing and some people just sit and relax.

The Berkeley Marina is one of the most beautiful spots in Berkeley. It's a bit far from the main part of the town and if you are student, from the campus, but it is definitely worth a visit if you have the time. It can be easily accessed via bus (but make sure you take the right 51B bus, ask... More

Great place to get in a stroll on a weekday or weekend. Brisk Bay breeze and Invigorating views of the SF skyline, Golden Gate and Mt. Tamalpais northward. Friendly folks with dogs on leashes, good feeling about the wharf. Parking abundant with easy access. Possibility of extending the walk along the Shore. Skates restaurant ready for hungry walkers. Highly recommended!
