Waterfront, urban park

There are a number of nice hikes here. My preferred one is along Cesar Chavez Park where you can see the kites.

This shoreline park was willed into existence by the work of dedicated volunteers, aided by their public officials and finally adopted by the Department of State parks and the East Bay Regional Park District. You can stroll, skate, bike, wind surf, parasail, or just drive on the outskirts of the park and see all of the magnificent shoreline of the... More

This nice little park is accessible from either Emeryville or the Berkeley Marina. Turn left after the overpass of Hwy. 80 and park along the road. Beautiful views of the GG Bridge, San Francisco, and the San Francisco Bay. It's spectcular on a sunny day -- nice walk and endless fresh air.

This is a different type of state park; its more a shore line park that extends 8.5 miles from Richmond to Oakland. It is favorite to visit for the views. Hikers, walkers, bikers, and others like to come here. For the Berkeley stretch there is scenic views of San Francisco from the park. We have come here several times. In... More

Staying at the Hilton Garden Inn for business, I hoped to find a nice place for a 45 minute walk. This little park completely exceeded my expectations! The footpath is in good shape (recently paved) and the bay views are spectacular. Very important to me was that I felt perfectly safe walking here as a lone lady, even at sundown.

My wife and I ride our bikes on the shoreline trail all the time. (tripadvisor asked for the month of visit, but we've been coming here regularly for years and the park gets better and better). We also walk around Cesar Chavez Park often. Go to this park!
