I live here. It is one of the best Destinations in Southern California. Any time of year you can get away from the crowds and enjoy the beauty and refreshment of the Mountains. Blue Skies and Pine scents floating through the air. Nice tourist areas and shopping are located centrally in downtown Big Bear Lake. There are secret spots and... More

I wanted to fish here as I hadn't been in a few years. There is just about nowhere good to fish from shore. Unless you have a boat then I would suggest not wasting your time. Most areas are now fenced off or closed. The park service has not taken care of the Picnic areas around lake which is just... More

We come here every year. The best time is during the snow season because that's when this lake area really shines! I love the christmas feel of the town when there's snow, xmas lights, and lots of good places to eat. The locals are very friendly to tourist and every person i talk to in the stores are very helpful... More

Nice vacation, quiet and chance to have fun with the whole family. Has everything you could imagine in a small skiing town.

It is a nice lake, the trail around it is ok. We enjoyed taking pictures with snow still on the mountains.

You can put your boats in water and enjoy the complete lake. It was closed on the date we went though.

Love walking along the north shore of the lake. There's a fabulous hiking/bike path with stunning views of the ski slopes.

I visited this place from Orange County, CA way back in 2012 and then in Jan 2013 (twice). People who stay in CA do not see any snow and one who is missing it, should visit this place. This is a quiet place during the weekdays but crowded during the weekends. Finding parking is difficult as well (weekends). The village got... More

1. Lake was large and completely frozen. 2. You can play with ice in nearby parks that are filled with ice. 3. looking for parking can be difficult especially in weekends.

We visited Big Bear in mid February. As we live in LA and can't enjoy snow here..We decide to spend the long weekend there. It was worth of all our efforts. The roads are pretty good and the snow is cleaned all the time. We had to chain our wheels as it was mentioned as a warning sign. The lake... More
