Exceptional Photography

Stunning pictures of many desert places both locally and further afield. My only critisism is that i felt the photos were a little too highlighted, losing its natural look

It's fun to walk around and soak in all the beautiful scenery shown in these photos! There are also books available if you're interested, and some cards too.

The photography on display in this gallery has quite a history. The place is very quiet and the layout means it has the character and the quality of a big city gallery. It used to be a bank I think, so it has a nice big foyer and feels spacious. I bought a book here called 'Starlight' which is a... More

The Mountain Light Gallery features photography by the mountain climber, Galen Rowell. He has traveled to many high altitude adventures including the Himalayas and has taken beautiful pictures of these areas. You will be awestruck by these pictures that he took. You can purchase copies of some of his photographs.

If you love photography then visit this gallery. Photography features lots of local shots from the Eastern Sierras but there is photography from around the world too.

Not to be missed photos that can move you. There are several masters with their work displayed. We return every time we are in Bishop.

I love the work of Galen Rowell, and this gallery highlights his work and many other talented photographers. Images of the Owens Valley, Eastern Sierra's, The Western U.S. and the World are on display in this clean, welcoming, easy gallery. Spend 20 min or 2 hours. A great selection of table books, shirts and hats etc. are available. The staff... More

We stopped here to look at the pictures in the gallery. There were actually quite a few more than I thought there would be. Don't look too closely at some of them though as they are best viewed from a distance. If you look too closely, a lot of things are not in sharp focus and seem over saturated. Still,... More

It is weird and wonderful to see a gallery full of beautiful photos of many of the places you have just visited. The artists' ability to capture the perfect image in the right light and the right season makes for an interesting visit. If you can't afford a photograph, there are books and cards available for sale. Well worth a... More

The Gallery serves a very usefulpurpose -- connecting all concerned with great photography of the Sierra (and like areas elsewhere). The artists, dead and alive, students, and purchases seeking the best of such work in one place. The Gallery is handsome and well laid out. However, the staff was ill informed (unable to identify the existence or location of an... More
