If you are interested in history and antiques, this is the place to go in Bishop. Each house in the recreated old west village is filled with antiques. I especially enjoyed the bottle house, filled with a really unique and unusual bottle collection. There are outside displays also - the train and an old train turntable, an old car. It... More

We stopped here for a few hours and had a nice visit. The walks between the buildings that showcase life in Bishop over the years was very nice, but I would have liked to have seen more information about the exhibits. The mining demonstration was excellent.

We had a few hours to kill on our stop off between Las Vegas and Yosemite. We came across this delightful railway museum. Set out like small village with shops, doctors , hairdressers this museum gives a fascinating insight into old time america. There is also a short train ride with informative guide. I first visited this museum 12 years ago and went back recently to find it has expanded. It's really cool to look at all the exhibits and get a glimpse into what life was like in the Wild West. Great place for photos, so take your camera.

This place was a lot bigger than expected. We got to climb onto a train and walk into an old train station. This museum had much to see and learn about. The suggested donation was $5.00 per person, which was well worth the money.

An office worker recommended the museum when she heard I was going to Bishop. I would pass along that recommendation to anyone staying in Bishop or passing though with an hour or two to spare. The museum has been there for 50 years. They have reconstructed an entire town from the late 19th century/early 20th century. There are at least... More

This is a Museum I go to a lot and have been doing so for the past 14 years. It's small enough to not wear you out, yet big enough to have a lot of stuff. It has a lot of shops that are behind glass from around 1890's, featuring a Dentist and Doctors office, Library, a Train Depot, A... More

This is a fun relaxed place to take the family and look at the way life was lived in years past. There were many old fashioned tools and train memorabilia that kids of all ages could get educated about.

You have seen the signs and say we should check that out someday, well our someday came and glad we did. A great collection of trains, replica old west town, farm equipment, small engines.. you name it. They have gone to a great effort to hold on to Pioneer history in a fun way..great job!
