We voted. It's unanimous that this scenery is better than the Rockies. Move all your storage to the SD card so you'll have enough space for almost non-stop photos. It's mid-June and the mountains are still capped with snow.

The Little Lakes Trail is deceptive. It starts at 10,000 and climbs. It is one of the most incredible places where you can be away from the hustle and bustle of civilization in minutes and walk on a trail that is really geared for young...More

We have walked 5 times on this trail up to Long Lake and every time it takes our breath away and not from the high altitude. I think it starts at around 10,000', but for the beauty of the scenery. It is an easy hike...More

When we parked the car and walked by the river we had the feeling of being in a fairytale. It was so breathtaking and beautiful. It was a great place to take amazing photos.

Not too many spaces to park. We had to park about 1/2 a mile down the road. This is an easy hike depending on how far you go. Family and Dog friendly hike.

We enjoyed a hike in the little lakes valley trail. For the minimal effort you will be treated to a series of beautiful lakes on a relatively flat trail. This hike is the best we've done in the area.

Started at Mosquito Flat and hiked to the top of Mono Pass. Great views and definitely got my heart rate up.

The scenery is heavenly. The hike between each lake is short so you're constantly seeing different lake views with mountain backdrops. It never gets old. Highly recommended!!!

This trail is so spectacular, I never tire of it. Each lake you come upon is prettier than the last and the closer you get to the end of the valley the more stunning the views. This year with snow still on the ground and...More

It has snowed about 2' in the past few days; it looks like it is still snowing up there with more on the way Christmas Eve. Keep in mind that you can x-country ski or snowshoe up to the valley although that could be a long... More
Hi, I'm looking to go here for the Thanksgiving weekend. We are looking for light day hikes to little lakes and ruby lake. We don't have a 4WD so I'm curious about how the weather will be. Will it be covered in snow or pretty mild? We are not experienced hikes so we don't want to get stuck. Thanks!

Going to be hit or miss on Thanksgiving weekend. It's rained off and on all this week in the backcountry. You can check the webcam at bishopweather and that'll show you the cloud cover over the Sierra crest at any given... More
