A nice little museum that covers the town, surrounding desert and history of borax mining from the 20 mule teams hauling ore from Death Valley through to today's activities. They have an excellent variety of books and information available and outdoor mining equipment displays.

I recommend doing this one before the mining center on the other side of the freeway. This one is bigger on the community aspects of Boron, while the more polished museum will tell you more science.

Learned a lot about the 20 mule teams and the Boran mining operations. The historian was very friendly and informative. Was free to walk through but they suggested a small donation. A fun stop in the middle of no where.

We stopped in Boron to visit this museum and the Saxon Aerospace Museum. Sadly it was closed, even though the hours say 10-4.

Great local museum. Gives you a window on what it was like here at Boron's peak. The outdoor area is great to explore if you have kids....

The Twenty Mule Team Museum is a small museum more about the history of Boron than Borax or the wagon. They have a few interesting displays on the early settlers of Boron with some old mining and desert stuff thrown in. Outside they have some...More
