As a little girl my family would come here camping. This park is beautiful like no other in the world. There are many trails. A great place for kids to explore. They have nice little store where you can buy basic food items and camping equipment. Also, their is a nice gift shop. Good place for a picnic or BBQ.... More

We only had time to walk the shortest loop (which maybe took 30 minutes), but it was perfect to give us an idea of how amazing this park is. The redwoods are just incredible, especially for first timers, and the park is very clean with easy to navigate trails. Also, we drove here from San Francisco and the route we... More

Staff in the main rangers office was a little dry. Funny since we were one of four cars at the park that morning. But that didn't take anything away from mother nature's amazing display. Trails range from easy to strenuous but all are well marked. Enjoy. A gem

Forget the trees, as amazing as they are, for me the most amazing part was the miles and miles of narrow mountain roads with hundreds of turns, elevation changes, switchbacks and all through stunning scenery. I wish I had a better rental car, I need to come back here someday with an Ariel atom. I have never driven such an... More

We were here on a rainy Sunday, but the park was still a great visit. The redwoods are magnificent. Hiking trails with all levels endurance. Good restrooms. Downside is that you must hike through, no roads take you into the park area BUT the main road is a great drive. The 236 loop off Highway 9 is a great drive.... More

We drove from the top down to Boulder Creek, stopping every now and again for short walks. Amazing to see the giant redwoods in their natural state. The drive is free and a must-see when in the area.

My friends and I hiked the waterfall Loop after a good amount of rain. There was significant water flow and the waterfalls were beautiful! On the 12 mile Loop you will see three separate waterfalls: Berry, Golden and Silver Falls. They are breathtaking during the rainy season, but pretty dry in the summer. We were exhausted after the hike, but... More

If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind hike that is fairly local in the Bay area, then I definitely suggest going to Big Basin Redwood State Park. There are so many amazing sites to this incredible place that you will definitely leave in awe. There are several hiking trails you can take, my girlfriend and I ended up hiking the Berry... More

Our schedule was tight so we had just an hour to enjoy the redwoods and visitor center. That was just enough time to stroll the half mile loop, speak to the rangers, read a bit of history, and to use the restrooms. We drove in from the west through Boulder Creek and had a signal the entire way for the... More

We stayed in a cabin with no other cabins behind us, it was perfect. There is plenty of space between you and the other cabins. I would recommend to bring a lot of firewood- sold at the markets right before heading up. Please do this and pack well as it's a ten mile drive back down to the stores. Restroom... More
