Excellent vineyard, the best wine on the purple line. Best Pinotage in South Africa. Pleasant staff and grounds. Would recommend

We had the mostly lovely afternoon with a bottle of award winning MCC and a charceturie board at Anura Wines. The service was of top quality - special thanks to Narissa for making our experience so special at this vineyard.

Anura is one of the many farms in the Stellenbosch area known for their good wines. As you arrive at the farm you have a relaxing, scenic drive to the wine tasting center, showing off the beauty of the farm. The tasting center has inside seating, which is nice and cozy during winter, as well as an outside seating area giving you a great view of their gardens and the pond with a fountain inside, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. There are also numerous frog-themed decorations scattered around as the frog is the emblem of the farm, which also makes for nice photo opportunities.  They have different tasting options ranging from their entry level wines to their premium range, giving you a nice selection of what they have to offer. You can also order some wine and even a cheese platter if you want something to nibble on while relaxing and enjoying their wine. The wine was good though our server was very new so the presentation sometimes felt a bit scripted, but he was still learning and we still enjoyed our tasting.

I liked the tour of the cellars and the information about the wine-making process. The wine tasting and cheese pairings were great.

This was the third stop on our Hylton Ross Winelands Tour. Here we tasted 5 wines with cheese and all very well presented and good tastings of both. The talk we had from our host was very informative particularly about rose wines. I was not a great fan but they are now much less sweet than they used to be and the one we had there was quite passable. Recommended

I would not recommend the restaurant. There was no front desk assistance, the meal took long to arrive and I went to the kitchen to ask when our food would arrive, only to be told they don’t have stock of what I’ve ordered! This was unacceptable, after finishing a tasting then having to wait almost an hour for your meal not to be available is just terrible management and service! Would not recommend the restaurant and they are not attentive and not on top of what they have available! Very disappointed and had to drive around to find an open restaurant at 3pm after the lunch service closed.

We were looked after by Percy. He did a very nice job of explaining the various wines they have on the site. They have 19 varieties. We tasted 5 of them. Plus we ordered 2 cases of the Malbec, which wasn’t on the list but when we told Percy that Malbec was our favourite, he come up with the goods. He was able to come up with an all included price for two cases to be shipped door to door to the UK, including customs and shipping etc. The prices are very reasonable given the quality of the wine on offer and certainly when compared to some of the bigger more commercial outfits. There were some nice cheeses to accompany our wine tasting and then we had a short but interesting tour of the cellars.

Anura was an excellent start to our wine tasting adventures. I did forget the name of the gentleman that served us, but what an experience!
We actually purchase a decent number of wines
