National Trust membership grants you free access to the site (excluding special tours). Overall the place is stunning, not crowded at all, beautifully preserved with some really unique features, the caffè is truly well done with some good food choices which are properly served and very nice. The staff could not do more to assist you. We took two additional tours for 5 euros (queen apparente) and 8 euros for the cellars, vineyard with a tasting of local wine. Worth every penny. The guides are passionate about the place and pride shines through as they recount the history. This makes the tours rather spell binding. Best of all, the place is worth it for the view alone. I strongly recommend a visit. …

The castle itself is very big but you can visit only several rooms (1h or 1,5h organized and guided visits only) as the rest of the castle was under the renovation work (at least that's what I understood). It is very interesting for those who likes history. Once finished with visiting castle inside, go outside and have a walk first in the outside garden with its labyrinth (they claim that it's one of the biggest in Europe) and admire breathtaking panoramic views from several points. Then go back to the castle and have a walk at its garden, just before the castle's wall. Overall very pleasant time spent in a nice location.…
