I played on a Sunday morning and while it had been sunny for a couple of days, it rained almost everyday the previous week. I had played Crystal Springs before and thought that it would drain OK. Unfortunately, it was a quagmire. It was cart path only for carts but the course was almost unplayable. The fairways were so saturated... More

Crystal Springs is located in a beautiful area. The course is full of hills and valleys, lots of challenging and interesting terrain. This is not your normal up and back type of course layout. We went out very early in the morning and found lots of deer roaming the fairways and nearby wooded areas. It was a great experience and... More

It doesn't get any better than a day off with friends playing a nice round of golf. Crystal springs has it all as far as am concerned. Golf, drinks, food and most important friendly atmosphere. If golf is new to you go give this lovely historic (maybe not yet but it will be soon) golf course set in the exclusive... More

Join the Men's club for great bargain golf if you can play at least twice a week or with family. Course is wonderful for weather, scenery, and wildlife. The golf is challenging enough to make each round interesting. Slight hills, but walkable for anyone used to walking 18. Drawback is the thinning fairway turf and some chipping areas around the... Played here numerous times.. The course is pretty scenic.. Challenging.. Hilly.. Can be a long course with cliffs and trees and bunkers. It gets really crowded.. Not for beginners.. They have a driving range which is nice.. I will say that the staff in the pro shop multiple times made it seem like we were bothering them to ask questions.... More

Crystal is a challenging golf course - hilly, and a general west sloping terrain. Often see deer roaming the course. Well worth it to play golf at there. Location is about 20 minutes south from San Francisco via freeway 280. The pricing of a round of golf and a cart is reasonable.

We played a few days after a heavy rain and the fairways were soggy and the grass was tall. The little white flowers in the grass made it hard to find balls and the narrow fairways and unforgiving OB made for a lot of lost balls. I play to about a 15 handicap and I found the course unforgiving, but... More

Crystal is a stunning layout. The views from some holes are great. The layout is a real challenge with uphill, downhill, tight fairways, severe slopped greens and you get a full round of golf challenge. Restaurant is average with hit and miss service. Driving range is quite good.
