Enjoyable art gallery

This cultural center contains a bead museum and art gallery mainly. Both were interesting and good to do on a rainy day.

Came across this gem by accident. Spent most of our time in the Bead Museum. Had never heard of a bead museum so it was a must do.. turned out to be quite the curiousity. It was definately worth the visit, took a few interesting pics and actually had a bit of fun as well as finding out a few interesting facts about the history of beads in Thailand.

There is also an area where you can watch glass and gemstone beads being made.

One of the few museums in Krabi
May 2017 • Family
Krabi Province actually does not have many museums as most of the attractions are outdoor attractions so this place is a welcome addition to Krabi. Having said that, while there were a few good ones, the quality of the artworks is actually not very good compared to what you can find in Bangkok. Also when we were there, they didn't switch on the aircon on the upper floors leading to a stuffy experience. I will still say that since this is free, it doesn't hurt to have a look here.

Lovely facility and excellent displays

This place comprises the Art Museum (or gallery), an Art Workshop for the very active local art community and the excellent Bead Museum. The collective name is the Andaman Cultural Centre, which seems fo be only used on the sign by the entrance. So, it has something of an identity crisis.
All three activities are housed in modern, well designed and maintained buildings. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful and some speak good English.
The permanent exhibitions in the Art Museum are diverse and interesting. The workshop has temporary displays and the next was due to open on 16 March so unfortunately we missed it.
The Bead Museum is quite unique and very informative regarding the long history of bead types, processes for making them and their uses from monetary equivalents in trade to decoration.
All free and well worth visiting. About 30 mins walk from town centre or take a sangthaew.

I went to this wonderful museum on 22nd June 2016, it's my last day of my tour of Krabi, my driver took me to this place, I really enjoyed it, here we can see beautiful Art work done by students as well as famous artists.

Next to this museum is Andaman Beads Museum which is also a lovely place to visit, has lots and lots of collection of Beads, I took some fantastic photos and videos to cherish.

Must visit for all age groups when we are in Krabi, located in the heart of the city and very easily accessible from all parts of Krabi.

Happy travelling...
Enjoy !!!

This is a very new museum in Krabi Town. Opened in 2014, and has a lot to offer. For free. Buy some souvenir in the shop instead, so they have som money for running the place. Three different houses. One with big beautiful paintings from different artists. One with a newly opened exhibition around stones and works from stones. Very nice walk inside. And also one house with special exhibitions that runs for shorter time.
