The Beads museum is worth a visit!
Jan 2020 • Couples
We were very impressed by all the information and to learn so much about the history of beads, and that it is possible to make such a huge museum about beads. We were not that impressed by the art museum.

Something different and refreshing
Dec 2019 • Family
We found the art gallery, bead museum and production centre very interesting and a welcome break from the outdoor and eater activities in the region.

The cultural centre is a group of exhibition buildings located in Krabi Town. Mostly air conditioned too.

Our sons are aged 10 and 13 and they enjoyed wandering through the art gallery and the bead exhibitions were amazing

And free entry , wow.

Recommend this for a break from the long tail boat rides, snorkelling and other outdoor activities , especially if you are wanting to entertain the kids for around 2 hours

Free activity for a rainy day
Jan 2019 • Couples
This free museum is walkable from most of Krabi Town (we walked from the night market area). There are rotating exhibits, some art, and cultural history. Not a draw to bring you to Krabi but a good way to spend an hour on a rainy day or if you need a break from the beach.

Great find
Jan 2019 • Couples
Surprisingly good! It is free of charge and really well done. You can visit both beads museum and art gallery. It's a shame to see it a bit abandoned and not visited by too many people (who sadly seem to prefer getting crowded on the boats/beaches instead). Please do go there and please the people who work there by your visit, you won't regret it!

Well Worth The Visit
Jul 2017 • Family
It's always nice to find something like this that is well run, well kept and free. When so much nowadays is about profit and not education. This place and the Art Gallery (they are on the same site) has easy parking and is very interesting. As with many things the people also make a difference and we met a delightful lady who was very enthusiastic and upon hearing that we had missed the actual area where they made beads, took us down there and showed us how everything happened. Her enthusiasm and friendliness really made a difference. Oh please note if you are looking for this place on Google maps it's called Andaman Cultural Centre

Our taxi driver took us here on our way back to our hotel. It was really interesting regarding the history of beads in Thailand. Really informative and a lovely museum. Highly recommend

Next to the Art museum
May 2017 • Family
This museum is actually adjacent to the Art museum. The toddler and the elderly woman in my group had previously been bored with all the other attractions in Krabi but they absolutely loved this museum. The exhibits were well curated and there are some lovely exhibits. Recommended.

Small museum on the beads tradition
Jul 2016 • Family
This free small museum presents the history of beads trade and manufacture in the Andaman coastal region since prehistoric times. Well made and with all information panels in english. It's just next to the Andaman cultural center which displays paintings and modern art from local artists.
A 10 minute walk from the black crab statue, but be aware if you get there with a tuktuk that there is none to bring you back on the site.

Interesting but not so well executed

Informative staff telling us where things are, do's and dont's.

Large space of exhibition and stories of historical beads found in the region, but many interactive parts are broken (lights don't come up, broken buttons, etc)

More impressive with the gallery part. Food for souls, try 2nd & 3rd floor for famous artists. Loved it.

Souvenir shop doesn't offer much but few products are cool and cheap namely beautiful dyed scarf ($5.50), postcards ($0.5)

All in all: Worth a visit! Good educative walk maybe after brunch
