I personally never heard of this town before, though it has been considered California's oldest seaside resort. I instantly fell in love with this town and am definitely considering to come back again soon and perhaps stay overnight. Since we came here on Memorial Day...More

Cute beach with very eclectic surroundings. No access from the Monarch Cove Inn. Plan on a little hike.

Beach was not over crowded. It looked like it may have average surfing possibilities. Children were playing in the surf and building sand castles.

Capitola is just beautiful. The little bungalows, rentals, cottages, etc., are so cute and inviting. It's a fun place to stroll and shop. Even if you have rain, it's still fun. The down-side is the traffic getting in and out of the darling town.

Lots of shore line, lots of sand, not many people (at least not during the week). Very short stroll from the cottages and from downtown Capitola. If you need to park, park on the hill and it's maybe three long blocks to the beach

Lots of benches, good place for taking little kids because of the lagoons formed from the flow of the Soquel river into the ocean, makes for large safer pools of water versus actual ocean. So close to bathrooms, lots of shops and cafes, and benches...More

this in one of the friendliest for handicap. I am not sure about loaner sand friendly wheelchairs. Some beaches have this but I have never seen one at Capitola.

Not sure if they have hours posted. I've been there after 10pm and saw a few other people there also. Most other beaches in the area just don't want campfires past 10pm.
