This is where you went in the 60`s. Now it has been lovingly restored to its glory days of the 30`s-60`s. Beautiful beach side rentals and amazing shopping to explore. There are restaurants close by so no driving required. The beach is groomed daily and...More

My partner and I stopped here for breakfast on route to Monterey. What a hidden little gem of a place. A quaint and beautiful coastal town with an abundance of shops, restaurants and cafes near to Capitola beach. The colourful houses are very picturesque. We...More

Tucked away in a cove, this beach is everything I want. Warm sand, ocean a few steps away and a variety of food places. Even pizza by the slice. And touristy shops too. Grab your beach chair and a book and head out for Capitola...More

My grandchildren love Capitola beach. We go with our half tent, sand castle building buckets, boogie boards, wetsuits and just enjoy the water, sand and sunshine! A stop for ice cream cone is also a tradition! Fun family place!

We went to Capitola beach during the begonia festival so it was a bit busy, but fun. It's a really quaint town on the water with great shops and restaurants. The beach area is small but nice for families and surfers. They have large public...More

Fantastic beach with a gorgeous setting. We enjoyed Pizza of my Heart while the kids romped on the beach.

This is a nice beach that is kept clean by the city. They have their large tractor device that rakes the sand everyday which picks up the garbage in the mornings. The water temperature is too cold for me and it is often windy here...More

I have been coming to Capitola Beach for many years. I love how Capitola has resisted becoming huge and commercial. It has stayed a small town beach, and is great to spend some time here. The beach itself is nice and wide and plenty of...More

There is a quaint circle of shops and restaurants down by the beach. The shops close by 7, so do your gift shopping early.

Love to walk the beach at sunset here after dinner! Parking can be tricky, so I spend the day at the beach in Santa Cruz, then head to Capitola for a good meal and a sunset walk on the beach. After 8pm, parking is free!

It is a long and wide sandy beach. The edge, away from the water, is a low seawall (for Winter storm surges). A wide cement sidewalk runs its entire length and is welcoming to wheelchairs. As a matter of fact, the Capitola... More

Not sure if they have hours posted. I've been there after 10pm and saw a few other people there also. Most other beaches in the area just don't want campfires past 10pm.
