New Brighton is a little ways south of Santa Cruz - it offers camping, picnicking, and beach activities. It is very popular on weekends year-round, so there is a shuttle from the busy center of Capitola Village. I rarely swim in the water, but I...More

I've stayed here four or five times I'm the past 5 years. Friendly host and rangers. Close to beach trail and beautiful cliff views. Just a mile or two from Capitola.

We had a lot of fun walking this beach. The kids enjoyed boogie boarding but there was a significant current (advisory for smaller swimmers).

Beach is great and we saw humpback whale right in front of the beach. I could not believe how close they are. The campsite is okay. Clean but the sites are so close to each other and it is very open and close to the...More

I have been camping here for thirty years and love this place, has everything you need. A short walk down to the beach is a plus. They added bear boxes to the sites so that comes in handy due to the raccoons.

We stopped here off of trip advisor recommendations. It is definitely a less crowded beach than many of the other nearby ones. There is a strong riptide to watch out for, but, if you are paying attention, it isn't a big problem. My kids were...More

Paid our $ to drive in - easy access to the beach which is pleasant white sand beach at the far south end of Seacliff beach. Tucked into a corner and thus a little protected from the wind. Can walk for miles if you want....More

If you are not camping at the beach camp grounds, I think you can drive to the beach during the day and need to pay only for car parking.
