Average visitor center in interesting old building. Usual maps, attractions, etc. In heart of town has its own free small parking lot. Open on Sundays until 3 PM.

I didn't visit here, but called beforehand to find out the best way to get to San Diego for a day visit. The lady there told me about the Coaster commuter train, which turned out to be enjoyable as well as convenient & inexpensive.

The two ladies we spoke with were very helpful in helping us with finding things to do. They were very familiar with the area and were able to point us in the right direction. The were unable to answer my question about a picture that is on the website but otherwise helpful.

We found this service to be helpful and show all there is to see and do in Carlsbad. We were visiting for Legoland but saw so much more. The shopping is great too!

The lady who served us here was very helpful in suggesting a couple of things for us to do. We took her advice on a couple of things and were happy we did.

This is a delightful place to get local information about all sorts of activities and events in Carlsbad and the surrounding area. It's located in an old Santa Fe railroad depot which also features local historical information. The morning we stopped in, the volunteers were two women who were eager to share their knowledge and make suggestions for various activities.... More

It is an old train station (circa 1880's) and is worth the visit, even if you do not need any info. The structure harkens back to a much earlier time and stands in stark contrast to the modern station just a few feet up the track. Time was, you bought tickets at the counter, waited in the lobby, and boarded... More

Located in an old Sante Fe train depot right in The Village, a wonderful volunteer assisted us in some great locations and ideas. Knowing that we were there for the week, she suggested near farmer’s markets and events as well. Stop for maps and advice, certainly, but also stop for this interesting piece of history. Call first for hours. Nice... More

The staff at the Carlsbad Visitor Center gave us some good information about Carisbad. They are located in an old train station building which is worth your time and its right downtown. If you got the time you might like to take the Coster train, the price is low and goes down to San Diego.

Very helpful and cheery people to help you at the old train depot in Carlsbad Village. They know just what to suggest and are very helpful. I'm glad they're there.
