The stark, cold decor was reflected in the service and quality of the wine. We have visited so many tasting rooms in CA and OR and this did not compare. This vintner is over-priced considering the lack of bouquet, feel in the mouth and finish of both the reds and whites. Save your money and time and visit Paso Robles,... More

This winery makes the mistake that many in the US make. They do not offer crackers or bread in between tastings for palate cleansing. Not impressive. Stand up service communicates Taste, Pay, Leave. We did end up buy a couple of wines, though.

Was glad we stopped at this winery for a taste. I love the fact that they aren't trying to do too many varietals....I feel like that leaves them to focus on the ones they make a bit more. We found several we liked but ended up purchasing one of the Pinot Noir's on the list as well as the Syrah.... More

Lovely outdoor patio to sip wine but service was just ok. Tastings are ~$20 which is like napa prices. I prefer sonoma wineries. Nothing stood out but the wines were decent.

Really enjoyed the Pinot Noirs at this tasting room and drinking wine in the courtyard. However the service from the tasting room server was deplorable. She frowned the whole time, rolled her eyes when customers asked her for the next tasting, and made snide comments when people asked her questions. She gave little more than the most cursory, basic information... More

The wines are wonderful, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the tasting room is relaxing. It is a must stop whenever we are in the valley. We love their wines so much we became wine club members!

Total production for all their wines is 5,000 yearly. Sampled 2013 Carmel Valley Bell Ranch Estate Viognier, 2013 Santa Lucia Highlands Estate Chardonnay, Really liked their 2013 Santa Lucia Highlands Estate 3 Clone Pinot Noir & 2013 Carmel Valley Estate Bell Ranch Zinfandel.

Conveniently located, pleasant and knowledgeable staff and great wines. They had just sold out of the Viognier were after, but we purchased two Chardonnay wines and a fabulous Pinot Noir. Would recommend Boekenoogen as a "must stop" in Carmel Valley.

Finished our Carmel valley tasting here. Met the gracious owner who is folksy but smarter than a fox. A former lettuce farmer, now winemaker. great pours and well beyond the tasting menu if you are friendly. We didn't buy but I regret it now as this was some of the best wine in the valley. Even so, worth a stop.
