as public beaches go, this one is great--very long and spacious, where you can catch some sun, have a long stroll or run, and do some great surf fishing year round. it's within walking distance of some worthy eateries and other attractions as well. the beach is often windy, but often quiet, too.

Always a great place to visit. Has both day use for the beach plus overnight camping. Easy walk into town for food and drink.

We actually parked just outside the park and walked along the path. There is nothing remarkable about this strip of beach. A short walk will take you to an overlook of some harbor seals (you smell them before you see them).

If you are driving past Carpinteria on the way to or from Santa Barbara a fun thing to do is stop at Carpinteria State Beach, go to the south end and see the tide pools. The best time to go is during low tide. Make sure you was out for the tar that is coming out of the ground. Have... More

Beautiful beach - wide and long, but where do you have to cross the railroad tracks to get there. Enjoy the sun, and the water, but be careful of the surf

The beach is not crowded and hence a family can enjoy few hours here and also have a choice of a number of Restaurants close by to enjoy food and drinks. And the best part is those restaurants are not close enough to spoil the nature. They are near the harbor. I enjoyed the sunset and attaching few photographs. Overall experience... More

We took a walk to this beach after dinner around sunset and it was literally picture perfect. There weren't many people there at the time and the people that were there weren't loud so it was very romantic. I live close to the beach in southern CA and this beach is one of the best beaches I've been to in... More

We timed our visit for low tide when the beach walking is best. We had a good one hour walk and it is a clean beautiful beach. It is a little busier than Summerland but still not crowded.

Other than dodging the tar in the sand, this beach is perfect. Few people, soft sand, seals, and mild sunshine - perfect!
