Nice beach

Nice beach, calm waves. Nice little cafe/snack shop where we had sea salt tortilla chips and salsa. Also rented bikes for 10$ per hour. Fun day and plenty of sun!

This is an awesome beach to learn to surf. There are surf board rentals right there at the beach, as well as bike rentals, food, etc. there's plenty of parking, it's also near the marina. It is great sand for laying out in, soft and not rocky, however it is quite rocky and shell filled walking out into the ocean...not... More

Legendary Doheny Beach is a nice place for entry level surfing, hanging at the beach, picnics and general relaxation. Great views of the harbor entrance and south towards San Clemente. There are several food options nearby. Doheny has several picnic areas that you can reserve for groups. Very nice place to relax and enjoy time with friends and family.

A California jewel in the State Park system. Bring a picnick lunch and a surfboard. Cowabunga dude! If you plan on camping, good luck! Reservations needed at least months in advance after the first of the year when they open up the system.

Calm and consistent waves make Doheny perfect to learn surfing! Great snack shack but a very stoney beach.

Doheny State Beach was steps across Pacific Coast Highway from our timeshare unit. It was my granddaughter's go-to beach when my daughter and I chose to explore SoCal and she wanted to soak up the California sun. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets at this beach and looking out our unit window, the beach, the palms and the crashing ocean seemed to... More

Beautiful beach park, small waves good for beginning surfers and stand up paddle boarders. Rocky beach, so take water socks. Camp ground adjacent to the beach great for weekend RV folks.

No really a swimming beach for kids. Very fun watching the pelican's "fish" and napping while listening to the shore break waves crash.
