We went on a particularly rough day and were worn in advance to prepare for a rocky trip. The crew really went out of their way to make everybody as comfortable as possible. Overall it's a very efficient and good experience.

The Catalina Express gets 5 stars, the Island gets 4. I wouldn't want to go to Avalon weekly, but it was fun for a getaway weekend. The cost of a really nice B & B, plus the best tickets we could buy on the express, plus restaurant meals makes this sort of a pricey weekend jaunt. The Sunday morning restaurant... More

Saturday morning was very full even in the Winter, and almost all the passengers were in line before departure time. Arrive early and plan to get in line 15-20 minutes before departure. We were very lucky to have a large school of dolphin chasing the boat so get a window seat. Parking is $14 and a couple of hundred yards... More

We traveled to Catalina on the Catalina Express and found the service and transportation excellent. Be sure to make reservations both ways or to avoid being disappointed at the ticket booth!

Catalina Island has to be on your bucket list. First no cars, just golf carts. It is like traveling back in time, slow and easy. Good restaurants, beautiful vista's, amazing sights. You can go and come back the same day or get a hotel and stay over night Don't miss the Jazz festival in October every year..

yes, it's touristy but it was a great relaxing way to spend a day. if you don't like the cold weather out on the water during the winter months, book the in-door commodore club. free drinks included

We took a morning run to Catalina Island from Dana Point and an afternoon run back. Both were pleasant trips with a minimum amount of hassle necessary to board and disembark such a craft. On the trip over we were treated to a pod of dolphins that ran with us for a while. The trips were smooth and the ride... More
