Lots of space and beautiful sands are the highlights of this beach. There is no alcohol allowed on the beach, but there are a number of bars and restaurants near the main entrance on 15th street. The beach was very clean when I was there without any visible signs of trash or debris.

Beautiful beach! Family friendly! Great for dipping your toes in the water for a long stroll after spreading your blanket out. Come back, enjoy the view and have a picnic lunch!

Del Mar beaches have it all, fun, great waves, fun people and a vibrant town within walking distance. You can great pizza and hang out in the park. You can swim, BBQ, walk for miles. You can even take your dog. Only negative, parking sucks!

The access was easy from nearby street parking and there were many people (and dogs) enjoying the beach on Thanksgiving Day. Looked like the surfers were finding decent waves and some of the dogs were also plunging into the surf. We really enjoyed walking along this clean and attractive beach.

The sand here is not as wide and golden in colour as elsewhere and it lacks a promenade However there is a small but nice park and the town is very peaceful Also there are a couple of great beachfront restaurants

My favorite beach - once you can get there. Parking is difficult so get there early. Terrific restaurants nearby - Jake's Del Mar allows you to enjoy a meal and enjoy the beach view. You can stroll and enjoy the view of the big beach houses, or go the other way and watch the surfers.

I was able to enjoy the views at the park up top, then mosey down to dip my toes in. The people seemed friendly, the beach was clean, and the services (i.e., foot washing facilities) were easy to access. And, of course, it's a completely gorgeous beach.

This is a really nice beach and less crowded than e.g. Venice Beach. Fabulous and clean sand, nice waves (you can also surf there) enough space for a walk, just a very good beach. If you don't want to be with the big tourist groups, I highly recommend you head the 20 miles north from San Diego to get there.

The beach is perfect in the morning until 9 or so on the weekend for jogging with your dog, walking, or just being by yourself. It's long enough for a great workout and the sand is hard packed towards the sea ( which makes it easy for wheelchairs). The lifeguard stations have beach wheelchairs for you to use. People who...
