I've always loved Del Mar beach, clean, beautiful, and family friendly. Dogs are allowed on leashes. Del Mar is a dog friendly town. There is a dog beach section further North on the beach, with pay for parking spaces.

Super nice beach on a super nice village. The only problem is to find a parking spot near the beach. You have to go near the train lines, otherwise most of the beach is for local homies

I walk 2 miles on the beach entering at 20th streeet early every morning. It is a fresh sea air experience that I love. I recommend it to everyone that wants to have light excercise and breath in clean air.

Califia Beach...surfers to watch, lifeguards on duty, about a 1.1mi walk to San Clemente Pier for a great cup of chowder for lunch. Parking adequate..be prepared to walk across track and down wooden stairs (all manageable) to gain access to a really great beach.

Del Mar is the place we recommend after our terrible parking experience in La Jolla. La Jolla cove is a mess for parking. Del Mar is less crowded and at least there is good paid parking near the beach. Beach access via 13th or 15th...More

Went with a couple of friends and encountered lovely parking attendants that helped with open spaces and they can even help valet. Beach is EPIC!! Views and waves are exhilarating!! Can miss!

We had a great time with our kids. There were also a lot of friendly dogs around too! It was a little crowded but we heard July is a crowded time of year.
