Although poorly-identified from the road near the trailhead, a fairly well-maintained trail leads down to the falls, created by a hexagonally-crystalized igneous intrusion. The trail passes behind the falls to a lovely overlook of the upper Sacramento River, including a striking view of Mount Shasta....More

The hike is very easy and accessible for people in every shape, but after visiting other waterfalls in the area the waterfall was a little disappointing. There is a nice view of the river.

Mossbrae Falls was closed off, so we decided to check out Hedge Creek Falls instead. The falls themselves were sort of disappointing - probably a lot better if it weren't a drought year. The trail to the falls (& small cave) is a short downhill/uphill...More

The parking and trail to this lovely waterfall and creek is easy to find and open to the public. Eventually this trail will extend further so visitors can also see the illusive Mossbrae Falls, which does NOT currently have public access.

Very easy hike to the falls from parking area. The falls were a little dry this time of year and with the extended drought, but still had water. Basalt columns were very fascinating to look at. Worth the hike if you are ever in the...More

Doesn’t get any easier. A few hundred yards off the road, down an easy trail, and you’re there. Beautiful scenery.

Is a short walk from were the vehicle is parked. And not to far from the freeway. If you are driving near by, stop for a while to enjoy the nature.

An easy, short hike that allows you to walk behind water! It offers a quick little adventure into nature.

Beautiful falls with not much of a hike for those with little ones! Our 4 year old walked the whole distance without assistance (and he falls a lot lol). You have to climb down a couple rocks once you get to the falls if you...More

The trailhead was a little hard to find. However, once we got there we had a nice (not too difficult) hike to the falls; then we got to enjoy the view, which was quite a treat.

Hedge creek falls is not a long hike and you get to go right up to the falls, under the falls, or stand on the huge boulders right next to it.

I agree with the other review, although the trail down to the falls is relatively short, it is pretty uneven and steep in parts.
