I recently had a happy hour beverage and food and it was very good. People were very friendly and lots of history in this place.

The place is dark and seems to be very old. It isn't. The tiki-bar vibe is deliberate and the default clientele more interested in drinking than chatting. Very much a locals bar, it may take a few visits to feel welcome.

Interesting place. Sometimes busy sometimes not. Crowd is youthful but not a college bar. Pool tables available, good service. Not on everyone's radar so don't expect too see the full hipster scene here (thank goodness). A 4-star on a good night.
