I visited Swami's Beach several time during my Encinitas visit. I enjoyed the people watching, from families with kids poking around the water's edge to joggers and surfers. Seemed to be a place highly regarded and respected by locals. I spent an hour or so...More

Swami's is magical -- a world-class surf break, a beautiful ashram, a lovely beach, a marine preserve, all in one place. It is particularly beautiful when you are out in the water looking back at the land, or on the clifftop looking at the 180º...More

Great location to watch surfer's all day. If you watch from the cliffs you have spectacular views as well. A fairly quiet beach as mostly surfer's frequent the area with a few paddle boarders. No dogs allowed on the beach, and if it is low...More

Great locals beach with huge bluffs behind and great waves for surfing. Very romantic for couples or high energy for getting on the waves.

Best beach in Encinitas. Not as crazy or crowded as Moonlight, just a beautiful place to spend an afternoon, catch a sunset or for just chillin' any time of day!

Sat in the park above the beach to get the relaxing vibes going with the great music and peaceful energy. The views of the beach and ocean was amazing! Had a hard time leaving we were so at peace!

Swami's is a unofficial name surfers have given the 'Point Break' under the Encinitas Self-Realization Fellowship Ashram, located next to San Elijo State Beach. This internationally known surfing spot also goes by the name 'Swami's reef and 'Pipes'.

Cross under the railroad tracks, you emerge in front of the temple and veer into the parking lot. Descend the stairs and jump onto the packed sand. Quiet and calm. It will be just you and the early morning surfers and beachcombers.

This underused beach is not crowded because it must be reached down a series of stairs or a hike from another beach with access. The local surfers consider it a favorite, because of it's good break and uncrowded surf. Limited parking next to the temple,...More

The hike down the stairs is fairly steep (fair warning for those who need it), but the walk along the beach is everything you might expect from a north county beach. Do note the tide charts at the lifeguard stations; when the tide is high...More
