Beautiful and informative!

Beautiful views of the redwoods, interesting history of the forest and very cool steam engine train ride with switchbacks, steep grades and a bridge!

Took a train ride with family and friends. Everyone had fun. My 1-1/2 year old daughter had a blast. Nothing but smiles. The tour was informative and it was nice getting some history on the area. We will defenatly take the train again. Hopefully next time we can catch the train to the boardwalk.

We really enjoyed the trip into the redwoods on the train. The staff was very knowledgeable and keep us interested in the details of the history of the railroad.

We took a family trip to this steam engine railroad through the Redwoods. My whole family really enjoyed their time. The trip was full of educational information and very informative. There is a cafeteria type eating establishment on the grounds in case you are wondering of timing with the ride and meals.

If you like trains and redwoods, this is the place for you. They have 3 friendly cats that hang out around the general store. The train ride is about 1.5 hrs including a 15 min stop at the top of bear mountain. Very enjoyable!

This turned into the most boring 1 1/2 hours we have ever spent. A slooooow ride through the forest, a long stop at the top of a hill, then backwards the same way we came. We were promised commentary on the ride, and looked forward to receiving info about the camp, the train, the trees we were seeing, etc. Instead,... More

Super fan for you and your kids! Very friendly helpful staff, big parking lot. Camp has restaurant, shop and place which tables and playground. Amazing performance! You need sweater and water, because train rides through the woods and mountains.

From Summer's great music festivals, rides on the train through our amazing Redwoods down to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk to all of the Fall and Winter Holiday events including Christmas on the Train - this is one stop not to be missed!!! Visitors and locals alike (like me) spend a great deal of time at Roaring Camp as the history... More
