It's an intresting place, its a must if you are in Fresno. Built as a way to run from Fresno hot days by Baldassare Forestiere, a Sicilian immigrant. A unique story behind it. The way it got built like the old Arabian built there old homes; in a way to allow the the sun, air go in a healthy smooth... More

I have been coming here since the seventies. Never disappoints. You will enjoy the much cooler temperatures under ground. There are even gentle breezes. The man knew what he was doing in this ingenious crafted wonderland that takes you on a journey back to Italy. Take a couple of hours she treat yourself.

I brought my parents here as a middle stop during a road trip. Wasn't expecting too much after browsing their home webpage (poor design), but the reviews were great and decided to give it chance. My parents love this place and have a great time! The temperature was cool compared to surface and the tour guy was friendly and very... More

This was on our to do list on the way north and we weren't disappointed. There are many things to wonder at - the ancient lake bed that was so hard to dig through but was used to supply the building bricks, that throughout the whole underground labyrinth the water runs downhill and everything drains, the symmetry of the rooms... On the north end of Fresno, Forestiere Underground Gardens is one of the most unique sites in California. It was built by an Italian immigrant in the early 20th century after he found that the land he bought was covered in hardpan, but that he could dig below it to softer, fertile soil. He dug out his home and areas... More

Admission is around $18 I believe, but it is definitely worth the price to go with your family at least once. I personally have gone multiple times. The story behind this place is what makes it so intriguing! You get to go underground and pass through all the gardens and rooms; it's definitely must-see !

This California registered historical landmark has a very original story and theme. Hidden in plain sight is a must, if you are passing through Fresno California. The guided tour will take about 45 minutes filled of wonder and photo ops. situable for all ages and easy walk.

It's kind of hard to spot from the road, but well worth looking for. It's amazing that one man dug the entire underground home. One way to keep cool in the heat of Fresno's summers.

This place is insanely awesome. One man dug out all these underground passages over forty years. It's quite a feat. There's all sorts of fruit trees and other plants scattered around the place as well because he was a master horticulturist. Some of the trees are eighty to a hundred years old. One grapevine there is over a hundred years... More
