Great stop for snacks and shopping

We always stop at this place when we are traveling on Hwy 101. The shop is quirky and fun. Kids love seeing all the wooden bear carvings and the souvenir shop is great.

This is my second visit to this wonderment. I'm always intrigued with its amenities and the amount of work that went into making this massive project. Always werth stopping in taking a look.

It is worth the $1.00 charge to go through this unique house made of a single redwood tree. It is laid out very well with living area, sleeping area, eating area, and kitchen. The original "tiny house".

This little roadside attraction consists of a "house" made in the 1940s from a redwood log. It only costs $1, and takes about 5 minutes to view, 10 if you're really into examining all the contents of the house. There's a little cafe and gift shop next door. It's a little slice of Americana.

As we were traveling north on the 101 to visit the redwoods, we came upon this little fun stop off. Great stop for snacks, bathroom and stretching. Both the one log house and the trading post is a must..... Try some "Squaw Candy" and check out all the handmade items.

We stopped for the great variety of jerkies and authentic southwest jewelry but had to take a peek inside this original "tiny house". For the $2 it cost us we really enjoyed seeing how very spot had a thing and how well organized the living space really was.

This is a fun little stop with a great chance to grab a sandwich and some delicious ice cream! The House itself is not that impressive but worth the few dollars!

It was one of those places that I had read about and seen on tv for so long, that when we were in the are, it was something on our agenda! It's not as grand as the giant redwoods, but, it wasn't a dissappointment either!

We drove by here southbound on 08/07. This was also the last day of the "Reggae on the River" festival and the road was coned off and not able to turn left off the highway. From driving by it looks to be just another roadside oddity that used to populate the United States. Looked like the Reggae festival would be... More

It's generally cool in the redwoods, though occasionally hot in the summer, but this little cabin is enchanting. It reminds me of our really old Airstream we used to have.
