Even though Half Moon Bay is famous for the maverick waves, kayaking inside the protected harbor is easy. We just rented a kayak for an hour and with our experience we got a good ride around. We saw a lot of birds but only two harbor seals in the water. If you are not experienced kayakers give yourself two hours... More

Got to try out kayaking for 1st time at Half Moon Bay kayak, via groupon purchase. The location is ideal for beginners or 1st time kayakers, since it's within safe harbor... so, the water is usually calm... even if you see strong waves as you drive along HWY1. The service is very good and folks working there are helpful. Rental... More

We had a great time on this 3 hour tour. They made sure we were well equipped - waterproof jackets/pants, kayak skirts, life jackets, etc... Everything for a comfortable ride. We've kayaked before but never on the ocean so this was a very cool experience. Elliot was our guide and he was great! He took us around the bay and... More

I had few hours to kill before flight from SFO. Half Moon Bay is always great. You can rent a kayak, a sup or a bicycle and spend few hours.

We signed up for the evening "full moon" kayak trip. The company had good kayaks, lifejackets, skirts, paddles, and everything we needed for a good trip. Our guide was also friendly and informative about the area and some of the wildlife that we saw. Looking back I think we were a little sorry that we did the evening trip. Although... More

Great fun. Our guide Sam was very knowledgable about local biology and animal life. Saw tons of seals, birds. This was a great way to see local Bay Area.

We had a great day out on the harbor trying out SUP for the first time. We stayed dry on a beautiful day. Wild life everywhere, bait balls, seals, pelicans and other birds. We had lunch right after on the pier. Very nice day out.

Used a TravelZoo prepaid coupon. Service was good. Kayak was great -- went at 10 AM and the water was calm. Saw several sea lions.

Very friendly staff. Whole group had fun in the harbor. Saw a seal swimming around us, Pelicans flying right in front of us. The harbor looks small on the map but is quite big to peddle around... If you wear shorts, don't forget to put sun block on your leg/feet...

We rented their equipment and spent an afternoon kayaking in the harbor. The harbor - as other people have said - is great for kayaking because it is protected by a sea wall. The equipment was good, and the staff was really friendly and energetic. Renting kayaks from these guys will definitely make your trip to Half Moon Bay more... More
