Pillar Point Wetlands Salt Marsh and Harbor - what a great morning ! Got there before too many people arrived. A little overcast, but calming and relaxing, with several sea lions bobbing up and down watching us on the beach.

We went to Pillar Point Harbor on a sunny day again in April 2018. We purchased shrimp and crabs; we bought them from two separate fishing boats. Its a scenic place to walk as well in Half Moon Bay.

Tourists and locals should see Pillar Point Harbor. It's a great little local harbor. The commercial fishing industry calls this harbor home. There's a nice beach nearby, and of course Mavericks. If you're interested in earthquake faults, one cuts right through this harbor--the San Gregorio...More

This is a great place to people watch, climbing around the piers and inspecting local crab boats and other fish for sale. Often crowded on weekends (for a reason--it's a fun place). The sights, smells, and sounds are all authentic

We buy fresh crab right off the boats when it is in season! The restaurants are good here, too! Ride your bike in from the trail!

My family comes here during the crab season for the dungeness crabs every year. They are less expensive than supermarkets, and caught on the same day. Great value for fresh taste. Besides, the veiw is nice.

And there's the Pillar Point Inn. It and the Oceano are at the most a ten-minute walk from the pier.
