Arista Winery was founded by the McWilliams family in 2002 with a mission to create the most elegant expression of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. We are committed to sustainable farming practices and sustainable business practices. We farm our 30 acres of estate owned vineyards and we work closely with local growers who share our dedication to sustainability in their vineyards. We do not attempt to manipulate our vineyard sites but instead strive to preserve each vineyard's natural qualities.

In addition to our wines, we pride ourselves on having created a true destination experience for our visitors. A breathtaking setting of Japanese water gardens, mountain and vineyard vistas, combined with an inviting tasting room, offers guests a welcoming environment that encourages picnic lunches and leisurely days spent on the estate.

Of the 10 wineries we visited on our trip to Sonoma this fall, Arista stood out as the hands-down favorite amongst a varied group of 6 people. Impressive, eh? STAFF: 5 stars. On arriving, a staffer happily welcomed us. He told us that our scheduled tasting would start on time in a few minutes and while waiting for us to... More

This is a winery owned by someone willing to invest in a beautiful garden and charge lots of money for most of its wines. We really enjoyed wandering throughout their garden and tasting a number of wines, primarily Pinot Noir. The value of the wine quality vs. price wasn't evident when one cost $75. Some others there didn't agree as... More

This is a gem of a winery. The Pinot Noirs are excellent, and they make a Zinfandel that is very unique...tastes more like a Pinot Noir which makes sense since the winemaker specializes in Pinot Noir. The wines are only available at the winery, so we had our favorites shipped home. The Japanese Garden is very pretty and very relaxing.... More

We packed a lunch when we rented bikes from Wine Country Bikes and stopped here as recommended on the Russian River Bike Tour. We had our lunch in their beautiful picnic area ( after making sure they did not mind) while the planes were practicing for the Santa Rosa air show. So fun. Afterward we went inside for a tasting.... While the walkways and gardens are beautiful, the wines (opinion of 4 of us) were lacking something in their flavor. The servers did not seem as knowledgeable as in some of the other places we would visit. Beauty of the place makes the stop worthwhile.

My husband and I made that comment when we first visited the winery over 6 years ago. It was a delightful surprise to us when our daughter chose Arista as her wedding site. The setting is lovely and peaceful--worth reserving a table for a picnic if you are a nature lover. The wines are great, as noted by a recent Wine... More

The surroundings and the Japanese garden are amazing. Wines are excellent, a bit more expensive than other wineries I visited but Arista now has a reputation.... Tasting fee is waved on purchase of 2 bottles, I was impressed by a Pinot noir and a Zinfandel.

Here with a number of co-workers for a wine tasting and gourmet flatbread pizzas cooked in their outdoor oven. Both were fantastic. In addition, the grounds and the views were breathtaking. It was a wonderful experience that was well worth the trip.

We have been here several times most recently last weekend with friends from out of town. The wine is excellent and and at a reasonable price point. They have a lovely view of the valley and mountains behind them. They have Japanese garden with small ponds, water falls and beautiful flowers throughout the thru, It is on the Westside Road...
