Beautiful walk through a bog via a viewing tower. Very peaceful in the December snow although the boards were quite slippery.

The place is like nothing I've seen before (ok, I live in the middle east). The views are breathtaking and the walking trail is easy and nice. We met a guy who was one of the trail builders, he said they started it in the...More

We spent two days cycling around the park and it was fabulous. Altja was a real highlight, seeing the massive stones - so random! Also Vosu beach and the beautiful Palmse Manor (where we stayed in the converted distillery which is their hotel). We saw...More

This is a huge national park that contains small towns, numerous war memorials/sites museums, wildlife and plenty of sea shore. Plan on spending plenty of time here to do justice to see all the various sites. We spent one day and used Google Maps to...More

This fairly large nature park includes large areas that are in fact inhabited and used for various types of commercial or recreational activities. This spoils the feeling of nature even though the sea shore itself is attractive.

It would be a challenge to find nothing suitable in the Lahemaa National Park. For a half-day trip, I would recommend Kasmu & Viru Bog. We took the Kasmu first, as we live by the coast ourselves and presumed if would make less of an...More

Lahemaa is Estonia's largest national park and includes coastline, forest, peat bogs and large Ice Age boulders. An hour away by car, it makes a perfect day trip from Tallinn, although you easily spend much longer exploring. We started our visit at the national park...More

It is just over a kilometre to the main viewing spot but those who are fit and enthusiastic can walk much further on the raised wooden walkways over the bogs. Insect repellent is a good idea. Note that toilet facilities are not available though there...More
