It should remain a well kept secret. We had the joy and privilege to go to this amazing vineyard this morning. Also very lucky to actually visit with Tom. Driving around this estate which he named "the ranch". His description and explanation of the different blocks where Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinotage are flourishing. I felt like Meg Ryan walking... More

During a driving rainstorm my wife and I trudged our way up the mountain to Fort Ross Vineyard tasting room. It was a trip worth taking. The wines were wonderful and the view, if not for the rain and fog, would have been stupendous. If you're in the area, it's a must see!!!!

If you are on Hwy 1 near Jenner, I recommend a brief detour to Fort Ross winery. Tasting room is beautiful and the Pinot Noir wine is exceptional. I am not typically a red wine fan but the Stagecoach was an exception.

Stopped by after visiting Fort Ross, host was verging on rude extremely calculating on whom he wished to attend to. Highly focussed on how visitors found the winery and lacking on sense of humour. Unlike other tastings you have to buy 2 bottles to have the tasting fee waived. Wines were good but would recommend somewhere like Iron Horse for... More

It takes 10-15 minutes up a winding road to reach the winery. They have chardonnay and pinot noir for the most part for a $15 tasting fee. The wines are in the $45-60 range, though there are some more expensive reserves on offer as well. We found some whites crisp, while others buttery. Some of the pinots were sweet, not... More

Breathtaking view, fantastic host and very good wine! I believe we had Henry, we learned a lot from him that day. He is very well informed and very passionate about their product.

We detoured off Hwy. 1 to visit this winery, and it was well worth the trip. They have a beautiful tasting room with a large outdoor deck, where you're welcome to bring a picnic while you enjoy the wines. We liked everything we tasted (a Chard + 3 Pinots) and ended up purchasing two bottles, thus waiving the tasting fee.... More
