There were very few campers here when we camped at Clear Lake. The bathrooms were clean but bring your own soap and towel. Showers were clean and hot, but a little glitchy, bring extra quarters. There is a raccoon problem here, but it’s no surprise...More

Besides the beach in Clearlake's Austin Park, this provides the best beach on the huge lake with sand not gravel. You can also camp there. Since you are on the same side as Mt. Konocti, you do not get the extraordinary view of it like...More

Interesting place to wander and see this part of the edge of Clear Lake. There is a museum, but it wasn't open in March 2017. The campsites are flooded and won't open until June 2017. There are many fishermen out trying to get their catch....More

I did not encounter ranger Cooper. In fact, all of the staff I met were quite friendly and helpful. The algae came and went. One day the swimming area was clear the next day it was covered in slime.
