It's a nice hike in the winter, still accessible in snow, and very pretty. When I went the water was just over ankle height so it really is only a footbath, but welcome nonetheless. There are foam sitting pads so you can negotiate taking your boots off and sitting down at the river without getting the rest of you chilled.

This attraction is more suitable during other seasons than winter... we were freezing cold when we came to this attraction (it was snowing then)... but then the warmth when you soaked the feet in was a pleasant experience

Went here in late December. This is a little further walk from oyunuma lake (about 10 minutes). You can still dip your feet in the footbath as it feels very luke-warm. Mats are provided for you to sit so you do not wet your bottom. This place makes a great photo. Worth the trip, I would do it again in... More

We ended our tour at oyunuma river footbath, and it was perfect to rest our feets. The water temperature isn't too hot, cushions are provided. Don't forget a towel for your feet afterwards!

It's a 1km walk from the entry into Hell Valley but allow plenty of extra time in winter as the paths are hilly and slippery. Alternatively you can drive in and park close by but there's still a bit of a walk. Foam pads are provided for you to sit on.

You must definitely visit this place in winter if you are in Jikgodani Noboribetsu. Walking amongst the untouched frozen landscape along the river is breathtaking. We had a leisurely walk in the early morning and no one was in sight. We had the whole wilderness to ourselves. The river, the frozen trees & the steam from the geysers. It was... More

We would highly recommend this as part of any visit to Noboribetsu Onsen. We hiked the surrounding areas and the river area was the best of the scenery. Bathing one's feet in the warm water is an added bonus!

It's just so nice to sit down and soak you feet in warm running water after a long walk. A must if you visit Noboribetsu.

The hike was not not treacherous for our kids the scenery along the way was not that impressive but when we got to the Footbath we were pleasantly surprised it was well worth the hike
